EV sales to get boost from car-sharing, analyst says
The rise of car-sharing will boost sales of electric vehicles by making them more cost-effective, a senior analyst for Morgan Stanley said. “An electric vehicle is better suited to car-sharing,” Morgan Stanley’s vice president of automotive, Laura Lembke, told the Automotive News Congress here on Wednesday. She estimates that it would take two to three years for an EV in a car-sharing fleet to cover the price premium charged for its more expensive powertrain, making it less costly to run than a car with a conventional combustion engine.
