By the way, we spoke back in June about your vaccinations. I need 2 things from you. One, would you be able to get us a copy of your vaccination record? Two, we like you to get the Pertussis vaccine (commonly called the Whooping Cough vaccine). Perhaps you can google it so you know what it is in Thai so you can tell your doctor. Please get that vaccine no later than 2 weeks before you leave for the U.S. This has become an important vaccine and even the doctors at the hospital require that myself and my husband sign a form to disclose that we received the vaccine. The vaccine is to prevent the caretakers (the parents and yourself) from giving the illness to an infant. In addition, when you get here around in October we are all going to get the flu vaccine as well. Since Sebastian is too young to get the vaccine, the only way to prevent him from getting it is for the family to be vaccinated so we won't give it to him. He has to be at least 6 months old to get it and flu season generally starts in October. I can't tell you how many times I was asked while I was pregnant if I got the flu shot and whooping cough vaccine. Please let us know if you have any concern about getting vaccinated.
