The effect of MNG (0.2%, 0.4% and 0.6%) and NaCl (2%, 3% and 4%) on rheological characteristic of the BSSP gel sample was detected from viscoelastic measurement as expressed by the changes of storage modulus, G′. A strain oscillation (0.5%strain) was used to determine gelling properties. The rheological properties of all treated samples revealed that G′ was larger than G″ indicating the formation of elastic gels. At frequency sweep test, the addition of 3% NaCl and 0.6% MNG into BSSP gel provided the gel with highest G′ and lowest slope (14.35) of G′ graph along frequency range as shown in Fig. 3, indicating the highest elastic behavior and strong gel network. When considered the G′ and G″ at frequency 1.5 (1/s), the G″ value (100 Pa) was 5 time lower than G′ value (550 Pa). Moreover, the G″ values of all treatments were lower than G′ value along the frequency range.
