The airline industry is arguably the most important sector within travel and tourism, not just due to its size (which is considerable), but also because most of the others depend on its feeder capability in delivering customers. Worldwide airline revenues are an estimated $350 billion, with the U.S. carriers accounting for roughly one-third of that total. Atlanta and Chicago have the world’s busiest airports, and the United States has six of the world’s top ten.
