The people in each country have their own way of greeting one another. British people greet each other by saying "Hello," "Hi," "Good morning," "Good afternoon," or "Good evening." Sometimes they shake hands too. The French say "Bonjour" and shake hands with their friends, or kiss each other on both cheeks each time they meet and when they part. Asian people greet each other differently. For example, the Japanese normally bow when they greet someone. Thai people put the palms of their hands together, raise them to the level of their face which is bowed slightly towards the hands, and say "Swasdi" to each other. Cambodians and Lao people also do this but they don't bow.
