Smart Conference scenario: Consider the case of a conference
or exhibition event, with thousands of visitors within
a few days. A system for monitoring visitor traffic in
each of e.g., the exhibition booths, and the time spent
there, as well as social characteristics of the visitors, could
aid in implementing a much more focused dissemination
strategy. Additionally, it could lead to reorganising e.g.,
booth layout in the physical domain, or revealing trends
that could otherwise be hard to track or identify in real time,
e.g., correlations of visitors’ statistical properties. Interaction
statistics and a presence heatmap are generated periodically
and reported online through social networking sites.
