9/13/15 FIM 1487190 RWC-WORKER PINCHES THUMB RESULTING IN FRACTURE The Driller and Floor hand were in the process of picking up the cross over sub with the drillers side boom line and store it into the junk bin on the outside of the water tank. The Driller was operating the winch line from up on the Rig floor with a wired remote while the Floor hand was guiding the cross over sub onto the racking pin provided. As the Cross over sub was being lowered down into position the pin end made contact with the racking pin, causing the sub to lean over. The Driller noticed what was happening and as a result activated the winch to come up with the boom line to reposition the sub. As the boom line came up it caused the cross over sub to swing into another sub that was already stored in position. The Floor hands left thumb was pinched between the two subs causing an open fracture and two lacerations.
