Gao et al. (2009) developed a fermentation that produced 220 g/L
calcium lactate, partly suspended in the broth. This was dissolved at
80 °C for clarification of the broth, and subsequent cooling would lead
to ~70% calcium lactate crystallization. Recovering the remaining 30%
would much-needed effort and probably a thermal evaporation step.
