Sucrose eluted faster with 0.1% formic acid as mobile
phase than with water. Some retention of asparagine was seen
when adding 5–20 mM ionpairing agent (pentafluoropropanoic
acid or heptafluorobutanoic acid) to the mobile phase. However
using a mobile phase of this acidity (pH < 2) results in lower
acrylamide sensitivity, possibly because more interferences are
dissolved and transported to the MS. With 0.1% methanol in
the mobile phase signal-to-noise ratio was improved slightly for
acrylamide, but lowered considerably for asparagine.
