species averaged across a 20 year simulation period. Abundance
was calculated as the mean number of females in grid cells where
individuals were present.
The result is a dynamic picture of animal abundance and dis-tribution that can be recorded and translated into plots of AOR
indicating abundance and occurrence relative to the baseline
condition (see Fig. 1 for interpretation). In its simplest form the
two values can be summed to provide an overall guide to impact,
