The previous literature on souvenirs covers extensive issues.
However, Swanson and Timothy (2012) indicated that relative to
the breadth of souvenir research across themes and disciplines,
none of the areas of focus within the souvenir scholarship has been
covered in depth, indicating that additional efforts are needed.
Moreover, although scholars have attempted to classify and categorize
souvenirs and food has become one of these categories, only
a handful of studies have discussed the role of food in souvenirs
(Buczkowska, 2014; Park, 2000). Sims (2009) argued that food is
one of the symbols in tourist attractions, and tourists' consumption
of local food is beneficial to the sustainability of local economies,
