It has been observed that for aboveground structures located in a dusty atmosphere, the loads produced by dynamic pressure are greater than in clean air. This is due to ~he inertial effects of the dust particles. For design purposes, based on observations of structural response, it is reasonable to increase the dynamic overpressure by a factor of 1.5 where dust is expected and to use the drag and lift coefficients as shown in this chapter.
