There is something that cannot be explained the way the audience feels about this character. We're in arenas, you know, and there's a man in a dress on the stage. I don't get it. But when they’re walking out of those doors, they are smiling and laughing, you know. And I think that's what people are coming for, that kind of inspiration. How long is this going to take? Are we lit? Are we lit? Madea-- my mother loved and will continue to love. You know one of her dying wishes was that I not stop doing the character. How 'bout that? I'm like, "Are you serious?" She's like, "Just don't stop doing Madea." I said, “okay.”
