As the use of RPC increases, efforts have been
made to analyze and improve the performance of
the RPC mechanisms. Zhou and Molinari [l]
proposed a performance model for concurrent RPC
programs, which is based on the mathematical
combinatorics. Rolia et al. [2] carried out a study of
the performance behaviour of the Open Software
Foundation's (OSF) Distributed Computing
Environment (DCE) RPC mechanism wing the
analysis of variance, regression and layered
queueing methods. Gunningberg et al. [3] presented
the measurements of SunRPC and discussed the
factors affecting the performance.
