The biomass selected for this study such as sugarcane bagasse
and bamboo are abundant in the north east region of India.
The physico-chemical characterization of biomass samples
shows that these biomasses can act as the potential candidate
for biofuel production in the north eastern region of India. The
dilute acid pretreatment process is well known for delignification,
apart from dilute acid pretreatment, present study also
emphasized on hot water pretreatment. Both the pretreatment
processes were thoroughly studied with respect to TRS
yield (gL1) in the pretreated liquid. The phenomenon of both
the pretreatment processes was explicated by RSM. The
quadric equations facilitate to predict the yield of sugar at
different combination of temperature, time and solid loadings
respectively.
