In the present study, we have
demonstrated that purified simian calreticulin and phosphorylated
recombinant human calreticulin specifically interact
with the RV 3' (+)-SL RNA in vitro and this RNAcalreticulin
interaction is also observed in RV-infected Vero
76 cells. The RNA binding activity of calreticulin, in addition
to known functions, supports a diverse and important role for
calreticulin in cellular metabolism.
