The main insulation extruder is typically running without
screw cooling. It is important to note that the cooling of
the feeding zone below the hoppers is very important to
obtain stable output and avoid bridging. The most
important characteristic is melt temperature which
determines the kg/hr and maximum running hours.
Typical melt temperature range during the productions is
130-138 degree C depending on screw rpm and fineness
of screen packs. Typical temperature settings of the barrel
for the main extruder is in the range of 115-120 degree C.
