CBCT provides an enhanced view in locating missed canals, calcified canals and curvature of roots. Measurements in relation to roots such as root length, type of canals present, angle of curvature etc., are simply available with CBCT, making it an effective diagnostic aid.
CBCT has found to play a major role in detection of periapical lesions more early than a 2D radiograph.
CBCT has also been proved to be an effective tool in planning periapical microsurgery even in difficult accessible areas such as palatal roots of maxillary first molars.
