Aiming the production of one of the most important biopharmaceutical drugs in the market, the isolation and cloning of the human growth hormone and the expression of this protein in prokaryotic system is the future target. The prokaryotic system; Escherichia coli has been widely used for the production of the recombinant human growth hormone. The protein was expressed in E. coli cells as insoluble inclusion bodies in 10 hours of fed-batch fermentation. The yield was 1.6 g/L of r-hGH at a cell concentration of 25 g dry cell weight/L (Ashoket al., 1999).
