A product tax code (PTC) is used with your tax collection settings to determine when and how tax is applied to a product in a given state. In the Tax Settings section of your seller account, you can choose a single default PTC to apply to multiple listings or you can assign a PTC to individual listings through your feeds, add a product page or inventory edit details page. PTCs for individual listings can differ from the default PTC that you use for multiple listings and will take precedence when determining the taxability of listings. Sellers using Amazon.s tax collection services are responsible for determining the correct product tax codes. If you do not assign a default PTC or an individual PTC to your listings, the Always Nontaxable PTC (A_GEN_NOTAX) tax code will be used. For a list of available product tax codes, see the Tax Settings section of your seller account.
