This leaves us with 9 other pins besides the power (Vcc) and ground (GND) pins.
Eight of these pins, QA through QH, are the output pins which the data we give to the shift register will be displayed on.
The final pin, QH’, is the pin which data, having been shifted from the SER pin to QH by the serial clock, is shifted to by an additional clock pulse.
Data, in the form of high and low voltage levels, is present on this pin until another clock pulse shifts new data from QH onto this pin, causing the data that was on this pin to essentially be shifted out of existence.
