completed six questionnaires. Fifty percent of the parent responders were identified as the mother Other parent respondent were identified as the father (n= 4. 15%), the parent (n 4.15%). the grandmother (n - 1. 4%). and other/ not identified [II - 4. 15%). Most patients III 22. 73%) were from the postsurgical trauma unit because of the higher number of beds, patients, and turnover rate. However, most of the RN questionnaires were from the inpatient rehabil¬itation unit (/; 98. 74%) because the unit is smaller and staff have a more consistent patient assignment. This may be partly because of the communication about the QI project. All the nurses from the rehabilitation unit completed the in-service for the QI project, whereas only 20% of the nurses from the postsurgical trauma unit completed the in- service. Nurses on the postsurgical trauma unit received information about the project via e-mail and other mass communication methods.
