Two alternative stratgiess of vegetable crop residues management to reduce nitrate leaching ( during winter season )in intensive crop rotations were reviewed on fied management options and modification to crop rotations and removal of crop residues,followed by a useful and profilable application the conclusion of the complex review study is that valorization of vegetable crop residues through composting anerobic digestion, or ensilage should be promoted ,aiming at retarning them in a more suitable form to the field to maintain soil organic matter and nutrient reserves and also maximizing synchronization between availability and demand.
