This series observations was repeated five
times under equal conditions with different groups of females to
obtain data forN = 25females.Between dailyobservationperiods, 15
females (three groups) were kept as a group with the opportunity to
lay eggs into containers filled with vermiculite. Ten females (two
groups)werekept inindividual cages todetermine their exactdaysof
oviposition under rearing conditions in our laboratory. Earliest
ovipositions in allfive groups occurred at an age of14daysbut four of
the individually housed females did not lay eggs until day 17,
