rectilinear distance, which symbolized both distance and direction,
was applied to measure the distance between the facilities, which
were represented as unequal-area rectangles or squares, on the
site. Subsequently, to solve the proposed model, this study developed
a p-based MOPSO algorithm to successfully and effectively
generate satisfactory solutions in a reasonable computational time.
A TFLP at the Jinping-I Hydropower Station construction project
was then tested to validate the applicability of the proposed new
method. The results and further analyses of the model, algorithm
evaluation and effectiveness were presented to highlight the performance
of the optimization approach.
