The GR is composed of three domains: the N-terminal domain
(NTD), the central DNA-binding domain (DBD), and the C-terminal
ligand-binding domain (LBD) [24] (Fig. 2). A hinge region links the
DBD and the LBD. The NTD is responsible for the majority of the
transcriptional activation function of the GR. The DBD is critical for
dimerization, DNA-binding, and interaction with cofactors. The
