In one of our recent research works, we have successfully devised the coating method of pure TiO2 and ferric-doped TiO2 nanoparticles onto various types of surfaces for removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) using UV-LED light source [21, 22]. Consequently, we have made a further improvement to the coating technique by simplifying the process to allow for the application of this coating technique to large surface materials that cannot resist high temperature and thus applicable to electrical appliances such as refrigerator. In this research, silver doped TiO2 nanoparticle is selected as catalyst due to its ability to remove VOCs, including TMA and ethylene, as well as its antibacterial ability [23-25].
