Static measurements were taken to determine the modulus of
elasticity at 7, 14 and 28 days using 50 mm dia. cylinders. For the
compressive strength determination, 100 mm cubes were tested.
Generally, it is accepted for normal strength concrete that the cylinder
test will result in a lower compressive strength by approximately
0.8 of the cube strength due to the confining effect of the
testing machine platens and the aspect ratio of the specimen.
