Figure 13 shows the temperature of two processing units. The CPU temperature increases when the CPU executes computation operations or memory operations. The CPU shows the highest temperature when the MP3 decoding program requiring huge memory operations is executed on the GPU and the computationintensive application is executed on the CPU (GPU/CPU method). The CPU also shows high temperature in the GPU/GPU execution method where a lot of memory operations are assigned to the CPU. According to the evaluation results, memory operations to transfer the data between the CPU and the GPU have more effects on the CPU temperature than computation operations. When the MP3 decoding program is executed on the CPU (CPU/CPU and CPU/GPU), the CPU temperature decreases. The GPU temperature increases as more operations are assigned to the GPU.
