At the suggestion of the director, Miss Wing-It spent the day observing in
Mr. Got-It-Together’s classroom. In the morning, the children all went to circle time. They listened to a story about spiders and sang some songs, including “There’s a Spider on My Leg.” After circle time, the children selected tokens from the choice board. Each token represented an interest center, and each child took a turn to choose a token. One of the children explained to Miss Wing-It that each token was an admission ticket to an interest center. When Miss Wing-It asked what happened if there were no tokens left for the interest center she wanted, the child answered matter of factly, “You just choose a different interest center.”
