Thailand successfully defeated Myanmar 3-0 at Olympic Stadium Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Sunday night to win their third AFF U-16 Youth Championship trophy.
The little Changsuk held out for 41 minutes before Sittirak Koetkhumthong opened the lead. Myanmar then pressed forward in the early second half, and there was no way to improve their final third to equalise the score.
Phayong Khunnaen’s men netted the remaining goals in the final ten minutes of the game, with Natthapong Nakpitak and Jinnawat Russamee wrote their name on the scoreboard.
“We worked hard for this win as you know, we did not have a lot of time to prepare but with the cooperation from the various clubs we were able to bring the players, coaches and team officials together for this tournament,” said Thai team manager Jintiya Jinarat.
“And of course with the support of the FA of Thailand, we cherish this which should contribute to the overall development of these players.”
Previously on Sunday’s evening Australia took the third place of tournament after defeating Laos in a huge 10-2 score at the same venue.
