NOTICE All valves in fuel return line must be open before and during engine operation to prevent high fuel pressure. High fuel pressure may cause filter housing failure or other damage.
When fuel filters have been changed or drained, some air space will be left in the housing. In these instances, prime the fuel system. Refer to Priming the Fuel System for more information.
Open the fuel supply line.
Air Starting Motor Pre start Checks For good life of the air starting motor, the air supply should be free of dirt and water.
Check the air supply pressure. The air starting motor requires a minimum of 690 kPa(100 psi) of air pressure in order to operate properly. The maximum air pressure must not exceed 1550 kPa(225 psi). The normal air pressure will be 758 kPa(110 psi) to 965 kpa
