The authors call for a broader approach in social entrepreneurship education with emphasis
on the diverse types of contexts that students create social value in and that this competence is important to increase in the
students (Elmes et al., 2012). An Egyptian case study of social entrepreneurship awareness amongst students from three
faculties shows that the Egyptian students generally are confused about the concept of a social entrepreneur and wish for
employment in multi-national enterprises instead of starting a social venture (Kirby & Ibrahim, 2010).
