I had a follow up with Oleg and Natalia and I feel there a few issues that need to be followed up with them. Oleg didn’t want to formally complain but he was quite upset and I’m sure would appreciate some attention and acknowledgement from management that his feedback has been received and will be acted upon.
Wellness – unhappy with therapist training/experience standards – feels they lack anatomy/physiology understanding and high level of practice and cannot apply enough pressure or know how to work with the anatomy. Very disapointed with Thai massage except khun Sek.
F&B – in addition to his previous comments about lunch being limited and bland he has also been shocked by the inconsistency of the food. The same dish is different each time (portion size, ratio of different ingredients, level of seasoning, appearance), even sometimes when they order the same dish at the same time they come out different. Also experienced this with the juices. Feels this is a management issue and that someone needs to be assuring quality control and making sure there are set standards. Very surprised by these varying standards.
Also the waiters level of English and comprehension of their orders is an issue. Surprised that most of the staff have such a poor level of English for a 5 star resort. Has led to some confusion and issues with orders. Again feels that management needs to address this with how they hire, train and continually assess on standards.
They have not had hot water in their room for 3 days and he expressed resignation (like it wasn’t worth complaining more because he feels it will not be resolved).
They are impressed with the fitness staff, gym and beach staff, but disappointed that it is not a swimable beach and that this is not clear on our advertising material.
Oleg, said he would be very candid with friends who asked him for a recommendation and feels that management needs to address these issues or they risk losing the high end spectrum of their guests who are used to 5 star standards and consistency.
