This review is devoted to the coordination chemistry of mononuclear iron carbonyl
complexes performed in this laboratory during the last ten years; it will be shown
that K+[HFe(CO)4]−, and more generally complexes of the type M+[EFe(CO)4]−
(E=H, RCO or ArCO), are versatile precursors for a rich coordination chemistry
in the field of mononuclear iron carbonyl complexes.
