The Portland Metro STEM Partnership is a Collective Impact
Partnership formed to improve STEM education. The partnership is aligned around five key conditions of collective success, as defined
by Kania and Kramer (2011): (1) shared agenda, (2) common
measurement, (3) mutually reinforcing activities, (4) continuous
communication, and (5) backbone organization. The partnership is
composed of diverse organizations that represent the multiple
stakeholders in STEM education including K-12 school districts,
higher education universities, informal and community education
organizations, and businesses.
