S. boulardii counts of the microcap

S. boulardii counts of the microcapsules were enumerated by
spread plates method using yeast extract glucose chloramphenicol
agar (YGC) (Merck, Darmstadt, Germany). The S. boulardii microcapsules
(1 g) were suspended in 9 mL sterile ringer solution and
stirred (30 min) on the magnetic stirrer for releasing from microcapsule
into the solution. After preparing serial dilutions, it was
inoculated on plates. The plates were incubated at 37
C for 72 h
(Duongthingoc, George, Gorczyca, et al., 2013; Vanhee, Goeme, Nelis,
& Coenye, 2010). The yeast counts were expressed in log10 cfu/g.
