It was an undeniably romantic season for Dolce & Gabbana where their Sicilian fairytale-inspired collection — which appeared to have been set in medieval times — included bejeweled balaclavas, corsets, hooded outerwear, raised waists, structured shoulders and plenty of pieces covered with various trees, apples and florals as well as woodland creature and key prints. While the most remarkable pieces came heavily embellished and a good chunk of the collection was heavily appliquéd, most of the silhouettes were clean-lined, so the elaborate surface adornments never felt overwhelming. For those looking to do without adornments, a few simple suits and little black dresses were also in the lineup. The collection capped off with an army of models, as it usually does, all wearing heavily jeweled mini dresses.
