The chemical property of RB-3 coating was analyzed by using XPS technique. Fig. 3 shows the complete XPS survey scan of the coating which reveals the existence of F, O, C and Si chemical components. The F1s peak was observed at around 688.5 eV, whereas the peaks observed at 531 and 103 eV can be attributed to O1s and Si2p, respectively [20]. The inset of Fig. 3 shows the high- resolution C1s core level spectra resolved into –CF2
(291 eV), –CH2–CF2 (288.82 eV) and –C–Si (282.5 eV) components [20]. These fluorocarbon groups found on the surface of the coating can contribute for the superhydro- phobic properties.
