1.Judiciary Functions – the head of executive appoints the judges in most countries and has two important judicial powers: granting pardons and granting amnesty.

Five different methods of choosing the head of the state have been practiced. They are: (1) the Hereditary principle, (2) Direct popular election, (3) Election by Electoral College, (4) Indirect Election by the Legislature, and (5) Nomination.
