It has been revealed that Coca-Cola is to invest $1bn on its distribution network in Argentina, according to reports.

Coca-Cola will invest $1bn over the next four years in its bottling and distribution operations in Argentina. The manufacturer has been keen to increase its supply chain capabilities in the region and this investment leaves the door open to further acquisitions in in the country. The investment is believed to include a new bottling plant in the northern Corrientes province and two new distribution centres – with construction of the bottling site said to have already begun.
Strengthening global supply chain
Coca-Cola has been keen to improve its global supply chain distribution capabilities – citing in its recent Q3 results that it is making good progress to strengthen its global distribution system. At the end of last year, Coca-Cola Refreshments opened a new distribution centre in Memphis, US, to increase network capabilities. The new $5.3m regional DC will distribute approximately 15m cases of non-alcoholic drinks annually and will serve over 9,000 stores - strengthening the company’s focus on improving global supply chain developments.
