2.3. Data analysis
Analysis of data from the interviews was done by use of content analysis [20] by the Danish partners in the project. Firstly the team of Danish partners (KK, AMØ, MBO) read
the reporting templates to get a first overall picture of the data. Hereafter, answers to the questions about information needs (see Questions 4–6 in Box 1) were coded to
identify the terms and concepts used in the description of the need for information on new treatments within each of the nine domains in the HTA Core Model and the additional
domain on political and strategic aspects.
Coding was done for the existence of a concept within the answers to each of the three questions (see Box 1) and not for the frequency of the use of the concept by each
respondent. The terms and concepts were hereafter examined using conceptual analysis to establish the existence and frequency of concepts within the 10 domains. This was
done manually without the use of a software program.
