I have to agree with you that Vileda is a lower price product and the product does have a difference with e-cloth.
I was told, Vileda products are from Indonesia.
Vileda have a powerful element. Their packaging have multiple languages to suit this part of the world.
Though Vileda’s packaging may not have the upmarket and superior looks of the e-cloth, the packaging can be easily replaced with a new product plastic pouch, if it is soiled or torn.
I am sure e-cloth can overcome the same to include a percentage of paper packs for replacement if it is soiled or torn.
Malaysia is in difficult times now. Our MYR against GBP and USD is at its weakest, never seen before.
If the value of the product is low, the incremental scale is not so obvious. If the value of the product is high, the incremental scale due to the currency exchange on the price point can dent consumers buying impulse.
I am in a dilemma now. When we first spoke about e-cloth, the effect on GST impact was unknown then. The currency exchange was MYR3.10 = USD1.00. Today, as we speak, it is riding at MYR4.35 = USD1.00 and the GST impact is affecting consumers. Generally, the currency rout affects Asia but Malaysia is at its worst.
I am not sure if you have any suggestions or proposals on how e-cloth can get involved with us to launch the e-cloth business if a strategy permits.
