However, caution should be undertaken when interpreting this
research. A different way to examine the results is estimating expected
costs and their economic externalities. If external economic
considerations, such as environmental features are accounted for as
an opportunity cost, Route 5 may become a more feasible option as
it scored the least in the Green Spaces variables. Also, if the relocation
of people and goods are the biggest concern, Route 1 or 2
may become the most plausible HSR route, as their estimates
identify the least conflicts with the variables in Factors 1 and 2.
Therefore, economic costs and the associated environmental costs
should be articulated for the subsequent research works, and the
proposed SDSS provides a solid foundation that could be utilized in
calculating associated costs.
