treatment of sugar industry effluent. Firstly soak liquor was allowed to pass
through a sand filter and the effluent was collected. To this effluent adult
Artemia was introduced ranging about 1.2 cm and then nearly 5 litre
capacity of soak liquor were taken to that 1000 adult Artemia were released.
About 2 litre effluent was collected after passing through soaking liquor and
3 litre of fresh water along with 1000 adult Artemia were introduced. Salt
liquor after passing through sand filter was taken and to this 5gm urea and
2gm of Di - ammonium phosphate (DAP) was added and this was left
undisturbed for 3 days in sunlight for nutrient enrichment to occur then
to this 1000 Artemia was introduced. Soak liquor from sand filter was
treated with algae. Algae along with artemia were inoculated kept for 4
days. To 3 litre soak liquor 3 litre fresh water was added and Artemia
was inoculated and to these algae was added after 4 days. Two litre soak
liquor 3 litre fresh water was added along with algae and after day’s 1000
Artemia adults were introduced, after each treatment step the TDS was
analyzed and it showed a good result over artemia and algae which is useful
for controlling the pollution of industrial effluent.
