In immobilization from fermentation broth, chitosan at a con-centration of 0.6% was used to flocculate and immobilize the cells.Eight-hundred milligrams per milliliter of SDS was used to permeate the cells in the fermentation broth. The volume of fermentation broth was much larger than that of the cell resuspension, and more SDS, chitosan, and glutaraldehyde were used; however, fewer steps were involved, and the final enzyme activity recovery was higher.
