A question of liability

One of the questions flagged by handlers at the recent GHI conference in Bali was this: how do the terms of the Main Agreement to the IATA standard Ground Handling Agreement fit together with the terms of a service level Agreement ? For example , which provisions take precedence when you are in the unfortunate position of haveing caused damage to your customer's aircraft ? If the handler has a dafence under Article 8 of the SGHA , are they still liable to compensate the carrier under the SLA ?
