TiC with high hardness and thermal stability is one of the best choices as a reinforce material in Fe-based composites. Regarding the fact that the matrix in these composites could be varied from carbon steels to low and high alloy steels and even cast iron composition, these materials can be heat treated. Through annealing, first they become soft and then using the required heat treatment, they become quite hard. The existence of hard TiC particles among the Fe-based matrix increases the wear resistance, elastic modulus, shear modulus, and creep property in these composites. Therefore the Fe–TiC
composites can be used in applications which require high resistivity to wear and thermal fatigue erosion. In these days, such composites are used in plastic industries, hot work industries, aircrafts, tools, dies, jigs and fixtures
