The first action is to form a task force for the implementation
of the pilots. In forming the KM task force, it is important to use as a base
the core group that has already been formed during the advocacy stage of
implementation. This task force must also be cross-functional coming from
as many different divisions or sections of the organization. The diversity of
the task force members is important because it will identify opportunities
for pilots and set the standards for methods to be used across all initiatives.
Some members of the task force must be high enough in the organizational
management ladder in order to facilitate support from top management as
well as from the staff directly under them.
