7. CONCLUSIONS
Research has conclusively shown that workers were facing
noise irritation, neck and back pains, and headaches
in the various processes in both the CL and LPL. The
noise disturbance in trim–form and testing processes
in the CL was significantly higher than in the LPL.
The long-term VDT work in die-bonding and wire bonding
machines is a significant risk factor in the development
of musculoskeletal complaints because of
constrained postures of the neck and shoulders. Most
of the complaints of eyestrain were from LPL FOL processes,
where all machines are equipped with VDTs.
The workers from both CL and LPL perceived that
they were suffering from tension in the neck and back.
